Fourth Annual Tor House Docent Brunch at Big Sur Inn

LEFT: At Jim Hunolt’s suggestion, Deetjen had Hunolt cast this Jeffers bust by Arch Garner at a foundry in San Francisco. RIGHT: The terra-cotta match by Garner is nestled in an inaccessible wall at the Robinson Jeffers Tor House in Carmel. Occidental College (Jeffers, Arch Garner, and Gordon Newell’s alma mater) has the other terra-cotta, conceived in 1935 when Jeffers received an honorary doctorate.
